The 2007 Monster Nationals season in review
By: George Eisenhart
The Monster Nationals produced by Image Promotions, a northeast Ohio company since 1994, completes its 14th year of monster truck productions.
Known for using mostly MTRA certified monster trucks, the competition was a lot closer than the final points standing revealed. Mark Hall with Raminator was entered in 19 racing events and won 13 of them, losing in the final round only once. Doug Noelke’s brand new Tail Gator and Rammunition driven by Geremie Dishman both tied for the second spot. The final points standing for the 2007 Monster Nationals Racing Championship was Raminator (48.5), Tail Gator/Rammunition (27), Lil Ms. Dangerous (13.5) and War Wagon (12.5). Congratulations to Mark Hall and Hall Brothers Racing for a 5th consecutive championship.
The audience-judged Free Style Championship was dominated much the same as Andy Hoffman’s War Wagon entering in to 23 Free Style competitions, won 11 of them. The next closest competitor won the crowds applause only 3 times! Congratulations to Andy for his second consecutive Free Style championship.
This was one of the craziest years of our 14 year history, with monster trucks crashing in the first four events of the year. Everyone turned it up a notch to offer the Monster Nationals fans some great entertainment.
Work is being done now for the Monster Nationals 15-year anniversary celebration season. There will be new trucks competing, a new mascot to mingle with the crowd and more give-a-way contests for audience members to take part in! www.monsternationals.com is going through a face lift as well. We will add merchandise sales including a DVD, register to win contests and maybe event some video.
2007 saw the Monster Nationals go to Huntington, W. VA for the first time and next year we’ll see another new tour stop, Chicago, IL. Growing modestly every year Image Promotions and the Monster Nationals sticks with the same grass roots philosophy: doing what we say, keeping our promises and hiring the best monster trucks available to fill out the entire line-up (not one or two). This adds up to a 14-year production that offers a tremendous entertainment and sponsorship value.
The 2008 Monster Nationals season is right around the corner…
are you gonna BE THERE?!
